CCTV News: In December 2024, 54 cities in 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps opened and operated 325 urban rail transit routes with an operating mileage of 10,945.6 kilometers. In fact, 3.51 million trains were launched, 2.81 billion passengers were completed and 1.68 billion passengers were entered. In December, passenger traffic increased by 100 million passengers month-on-month, an increase of 3.7%, and an increase of 140 million passengers year-on-year, an increase of 5.2%. In December, the average passenger intensity of the total operating mileage in the country was 85,300 per kilometer per day, a decrease of 0.8% month-on-month and 1.1% year-on-year.

Among them, 43 cities have opened and operated 267 subway and light rail lines, with an operating mileage of 9477.6 kilometers, a passenger volume of 2.72 billion and a station entry volume of 1.61 billion; 16 cities have opened and operated 25 monorail, maglev, and urban express rail transit lines, with an operating mileage of 970.7 kilometers, a passenger volume of 84.77 million and a station entry volume of 57.13 million; 18 cities have opened and operated 33 trams and automatic guided track lines, with an operating mileage of 497.3 kilometers, a passenger volume of 10.46 million and a station entry volume of 9.88 million.

This month, 423.5 kilometers of new operating mileage and 12 new operating lines were added, namely Beijing Metro Line 3 Phase I and Line 12, Guangzhou Metro Line 11, Chengdu Metro Line 27 Phase I, Shenzhen Metro Line 13 Phase I, Xi'an Metro Line 8 (ring) Line, Suzhou Metro Line 7, Zhengzhou Metro Line 7 Phase I and Line 8 Phase I, Shenyang Metro Line 3 Phase I, Hefei Metro Line 8 Phase I, and Guiyang Metro Line S1; 12 new operating sections are added, namely the remaining sections of the south extension of the Changping Line of Beijing Metro, the second phase of Chengdu Metro Line 8, the fourth phase of Shenzhen Metro Line 3, the second phase of 7, the second phase of 11 and the second phase of 12, the first section of Wuhan Metro Line 11 Phase II and Phase II of Wuchang, the middle section of Nanjing Metro Line 7, the western extension section of Qingdao Metro Line 2, the western section of Tianjin Metro Line 11 Phase I project, and the second phase of Xuzhou Metro Line 3.
