CCTV News: According to the Supreme People's Court, on January 15, 2025, the Heze Intermediate People's Court of Shandong Province held a public trial of the case of bribery by Wang Yixin, former member of the Standing Committee of the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee and former deputy secretary of the Party Group and vice governor of the Provincial Government.
The People's Procuratorate of Heze City, Shandong Province filed a lawsuit and allegation: From July 2008 to October 2020, the defendant Wang Yixin used his position as deputy secretary, director and secretary of the Party Committee of the Hainan Provincial Agricultural Reclamation Bureau, deputy secretary and general manager of the Party Committee of Hainan Provincial Agricultural Reclamation Corporation, secretary and chairman of the Party Committee of Hainan Provincial Agricultural Reclamation Group Co., Ltd., member of the Party Group and vice governor of the Shanxi Provincial Government, etc., to provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in business contracting, land development, and position promotion. From May 2005 to the second half of 2023, Wang Yixin received property directly or through others, totaling more than RMB 129 million. The procuratorate requested that Wang Yixin be held criminally responsible for accepting bribes.
During the trial, the procuratorate presented relevant evidence, the defendant Wang Yixin and his defense lawyer conducted cross-examination, and the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court. Wang Yixin made the final statement and expressed his guilt and remorse in court.
At the end of the trial, the court announced an adjournment and the verdict was announced at a later date.
National Congress deputies, CPPCC members and more than 20 people from all walks of life attended the trial.
