The Netherlands will expand the scope of export control for semiconductor-related items. Ministry of Commerce responds
2025-04-25 source:CCTV.com

CCTV News: According to the Ministry of Commerce website, on January 15, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce asked a reporter about the Dutch semiconductor export control question and answer.

Q: On January 15, the Netherlands announced that it would expand the scope of export control for semiconductor-related items. What is China’s comment on this?

A: China has noticed that the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an announcement to further tighten export controls on some semiconductor manufacturing equipment, software, etc., and expressed high concern to the Dutch side on this. The semiconductor industry is a highly globalized field. Recently, some countries have repeatedly generalized the concept of national security and abused export controls, which seriously threatened the stability of the global semiconductor industry chain and supply chain. China firmly opposes this.

China hopes that the Netherlands, as a member of the WTO, will respect market principles and contractual spirit, effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises from all countries, including Chinese and Dutch enterprises, and maintain the stability of the global semiconductor industry chain and supply chain.
