CCTV News: On the morning of January 3, Sanya Port welcomed the first international cruise ship to enter Hainan in 2025. The Gulangyu cruise ship carrying 456 passengers docked at Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Port.
The cruise ship departs from Hong Kong and will continue to sail to Vietnam after arriving in Sanya. This route innovatively adopts the "dual home port" operation model of passengers from Hong Kong and Sanya, providing passengers with different travel routes.
In order to ensure the smooth customs clearance of the cruise ship and passengers, the Sanya Border Inspection Station has formulated a special service plan. At the same time, it will strengthen the port control during the cruise ship's port-to-port, and through ladder monitoring, fixed-point patrols and video patrols, it will do its best to manage the port-limited area during the ship's port to ensure the safe and orderly boarding of passengers and employees.
The captain of the first team of Sanya Border Inspection Station introduced that the "cruise management and control system" effectively simplifies the entry and exit procedures of cruise ships and their carriers, shortens the port customs clearance time, and provides an efficient, convenient and comfortable customs clearance environment for inbound and outbound passengers.
According to reports, the "Gulangyu" can accommodate more than 2,000 passengers and is the first international cruise ship to Sanya since the implementation of the "Visa-free Policy for Cruise Traveling in Foreign Tourist Groups" in 2024. In recent years, Sanya has continuously increased its support for cruise tourism, improved port infrastructure construction, improved tourism service quality, and strived to build an international cruise tourism destination.
