Since the Spring Festival travel rush, the three-gragon-Gezhouba two-ba hubs have been continuously flowing in the east-west ship and passenger flow. The reporter learned from the Three Gorges Navigation Administration of the Yangtze River today that in January 2025, the passage of the Three Gorges hub exceeded 13.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.56%, and the passenger volume was nearly 7,800, a year-on-year increase of 274.8%, both hitting record highs in the same period. Among them, the passage of the Three Gorges ship lock exceeded 13.5 million tons, an increase of 6.13% year-on-year, the highest in the same period in history.
The Three Gorges Ship Lock and Three Gorges Ship Lift are permanent navigation buildings of the Three Gorges Water Conservancy Project. The two work together to form a navigation pattern of "large ships climb stairs and small boats take elevators", and play an important role in promoting shipping development and reducing shipping costs.
Since the start of the Spring Festival travel rush, in order to ensure the safety and stability of the navigation situation, the Three Gorges Navigation Administration of the Yangtze River has carried out in-depth investigation and rectification of major risks and hidden dangers, strengthened safety warnings and water traffic control, and closely monitored ship navigation activities to ensure traffic and smooth flow in all aspects.
