Xinhua News Agency, Wuhan, February 5 (Reporter Wang Zichen) The reporter learned from China Railway Wuhan Bureau Group Co., Ltd. on the 5th that in order to cope with the post-holiday travel peak, Wuhan Railway plans to add more than 400 ordinary trains to Beijing, Guangdong and other places in Henan, Hubei and other places to facilitate migrant workers to return to work in a concentrated manner.

Wu Railway is located in the central part of the national railway network and the geographical center. The road network runs through the north and south, connecting the east and west, and is an important hub of the national railway. During the Spring Festival holiday, the passenger flow of railways continued to rise. From January 28 to February 4, the Wuhan Railway sent a total of 4.8 million passengers, an increase of 5% compared with the same period in 2024. Wuhan Railway has increased its efforts to deploy capacity in popular directions, and has launched a total of 1,065 high-speed trains and ordinary trains.

As migrant workers return to work one after another, the railway department predicts that the first wave of travel peak will appear after the Spring Festival holiday to February 10, and the second wave of travel peak will usher in from February 13 to February 14, with about 800,000 passengers expected to be sent daily. In order to facilitate the concentrated return of migrant workers, the Wuhan Railway plans to add more than 400 ordinary trains to Beijing, Guangzhou, Huizhou, Dongguan and other places in Xinyang, Henan and Macheng, Xiangyang, Jingmen, Hubei after the festival. At the same time, Wuhan Railway will also dynamically replenish its transportation capacity based on the ticket pre-sale wait-off situation. On peak passenger flow days, it is planned to add about 300 passenger trains.

The head of relevant departments of Wuhan Railway introduced that Wuhan Railway has set up green (urgent passenger) channels at the entrances of major passenger stations to facilitate students and working groups to handle rides. At the same time, artificial windows are added to ensure convenient travel.
