During the 2025 Spring Festival, the Tibet consumer market is full of vitality. Data from the Tibet Autonomous Region Department of Commerce shows that from January 28 to February 4, the 35 key commercial enterprises monitored achieved a cumulative sales of 38.5917 million yuan, an increase of 7.79% year-on-year. Consumption demand in key areas such as catering, retail, and tourism is strong, and consumption enthusiasm continues to heat up.

At the exhibition at Gajilin Square in Lhasa, special products from Nepal, Russia, Thailand, etc., as well as traditional handicrafts and plateau specialty agricultural products from Tibet. Citizen Baimadeji said: "I went to Gajilin Square to see imported snacks and wanted to buy some Tibetan jewelry."

Behind the lively consumption scene, the strong support of people and logistics is inseparable. During the Spring Festival, Tibet's civil aviation passenger transport volume reached 136,197 and cargo and mail throughput reached 304.3 tons.

"Now there is a discount for 1,000 yuan off for every 5,000 yuan, and it just happened to change to a new phone during the holiday." Citizen Cao Kang came to the entrance of Huawei Smart Life Center in the city early to queue up. During the Spring Festival, Tibet launched the "Happy Tibet, Enjoy Life" activity, and digital, automobiles, home appliances, etc. ushered in a peak in consumption.

"During the Spring Festival, the store was crowded with customers, and sales increased by 3 to 4 times compared with usual. Sometimes the daily sales can reach more than 1 million yuan. Consumers are very willing to buy high-end mobile phones." said Xu Kun, head of Huawei Smart Life Center.

Experts analyzed that the continued growth of residents' income drives consumption upgrades. In 2024, the per capita disposable income of Tibetan residents reached 31,358 yuan, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year. Residents' consumption concepts are gradually upgrading, and the consumption field continues to expand to leisure, tourism, sports and fitness.

At the "Lhasa Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Products Exhibition" held by a shopping center in the center of Lhasa, special products such as carved rubbings, intangible cultural heritage clothing, Tibetan fragrance attracted many citizens and tourists to stop and experience.

More and more tourists choose to spend the Spring Festival in Tibet. Data from the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Tibet Autonomous Region shows that during the Spring Festival, Tibet received a total of 2.3812 million domestic and foreign tourists, an increase of 16.56% year-on-year, and the total tourism expenditure was 1.945 billion yuan, an increase of 13.68% year-on-year. According to Ctrip data, during the Spring Festival, the main sources of tourists to Tibet were Lhasa, Shanghai, Chengdu, Beijing and Guangzhou.
