CCTV News: On the 18th, the BRICS Economic and Trade Activities Forum hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade released the "BRICS Action Plan for Trade Development and Standard Cooperation Initiative (2025-2026)".

The overall goal of the action plan is to strengthen the existing cooperation framework of BRICS countries, jointly build an information sharing mechanism, reduce technical barriers through standard docking and mutual recognition, and improve the facilitation of goods, services, culture and digital trade between BRICS countries.

With international standards, technical regulations, voluntary sustainable standards and other standards as technical support, we will accelerate the sustainable development process and multilateral and bilateral cooperation among BRICS countries in economic, social, environmental and other aspects.

Li Qingshuang, vice president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said: "Emerging market countries and developing countries represented by BRICS countries have emerged in a collective manner and deepened economic and trade cooperation are fundamentally changing the world economic development pattern and injecting more certainty and stability into world economic growth."

The action plan also gave a detailed explanation of key actions and implementation paths, and put forward feasibility suggestions on trade in goods, trade in services, cultural trade, digital trade, etc.

The majority of the representatives participating in the forum are that with the continuous increase in the representativeness, inspiration and influence of the BRICS cooperation mechanism, it has become an important platform for global Southern solidarity and cooperation, and has also become a position to resist trade barriers and unilateralism.

Indonesian delegate Nadia said: "The development of a country should not be at the expense of the development of other countries. We have always relied on regional and multilateral cooperation to achieve development. We set corresponding trade rules to ensure that the corresponding rights and responsibilities are fair and fair."

Cuban representative Robert Smith said: "Only by eliminating unilateral practices in a democratic international system and putting cooperation above competition, can true trade facilitation be achieved. We reiterate our willingness to work with these partners of the BRICS countries to establish a more inclusive economic model to achieve fair development of all countries."

The delegates believed that only by establishing fair and just trade rules can economic and trade exchanges be normalized and rationalized.

Brazil's representative Ma Jialiang said: "We strive to improve the level of trade facilitation, reduce trade barriers, and promote regulatory convergence in the international market."
