The relevant person in charge of the Chinese Go Association said on the 23rd that the association will not form a team to participate in the new LG Cup World Go Chess King Championship, which is expected to open in May, but this will not affect Chinese players participating in other world chess battles hosted by South Korea.

In the final game of the 29th LG Cup World Go King Battle Three-Part Final held in January, Chinese chess player Ke Jie was once again judged by the South Korean side for not putting the lift in the lid of the chess box again after the second game. The timing of the referee interrupting the game was controversial. Ke Jie did not accept the penalty and chose to give up the game. The South Korean side announced that Korean chess player Bian Xiangyi won the championship. Subsequently, the Chinese Go Association issued a statement saying that the referee's interruption was inappropriate, which affected the normal progress of the game. The players were excessively disturbed by the referee and were unable to continue completing the game. The statement stated: "After complaining to the event organizer of the Korean Chess Academy, the application for a rematch was fruitless, and the Chinese Go Association will not accept the results of the third game of this LG Cup."

The relevant person in charge of the Chinese Go Association said on the 23rd that after the LG Cup dispute penalty incident occurred, the association continued to communicate with the LG Cup organizer. China's position in the statement has not changed, and the event organizers have not been able to make a public positive response to the statement and core demands of the Chinese Go Association. After careful consideration, the Chinese Go Association decided not to form a team to participate in this year's LG Cup. However, this decision will not affect Chinese players participating in other world Go events hosted by South Korea this year and in the future.
