On December 15, local time, the 23rd and 24th batches of Chinese peacekeeping troops to Lebanon held a handover ceremony of command and authority at the Chinese peacekeeping force camp in Siniya Village, southern Lebanon.
The 23rd batch of peacekeeping troops successfully completed the one-year peacekeeping mission, and the 24th batch of peacekeeping troops officially took over the sacred mission of peacekeeping. This is also the 23rd rotation since China went to Lebanon for peacekeeping.
The Commander-in-Chief of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Deodato Abagniara, highly praised the outstanding contributions of the 23rd batch of Chinese peacekeeping troops and expressed his sincere welcome to the 24th batch of peacekeeping officers and soldiers who are about to take up their duties.
In the past year, the 23rd batch of Chinese peacekeeping troops to Lebanon, under the framework of UNIFIL, faced the complex and severe security situation, always keeping in mind the great trust of the motherland and the people, and with their professional and efficient execution capabilities, rigorous and excellent discipline style and the lofty spirit of selfless dedication, they have won wide praise from UNIFIL, the Lebanese people and the international community, and have made important contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the southern Lebanese region.
In the coming year, the 24th batch of peacekeeping troops to Lebanon will continue to perform tasks such as mine clearance and explosive disposal, medical assistance, and humanitarian assistance in the "Blue Line" area on the Lebanese-Israeli border, contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to promoting regional peace and stability.
