CCTV News: According to the WeChat public account of the "Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica", several violent attacks against police officers have occurred simultaneously in the capital of Guatemala and other places in recent days, resulting in the death and injury of many police officers and affecting ordinary citizens. President Arevalo declared martial law nationwide for 30 days and suspended classes nationwide starting from the 19th to ensure the safety of the people.

The Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica reminds Chinese citizens and institutions in crisis to pay attention to the local security situation, improve safety awareness, strengthen prevention and emergency preparedness, and avoid going out unless necessary to ensure the safety of people and property. Overseas Chinese operating stores in danger should strengthen security facilities such as doors, windows, monitoring and alarms in the stores. In the event of an emergency, stay calm, avoid direct conflict, and call the police as soon as you are out of danger.

In the event of an emergency, please call the police promptly and contact the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica for assistance.
