The 163rd China-Laos, Myanmar-Thailand Mekong River joint patrol and law enforcement operation launched

At 9:00 on March 23, the 163rd joint patrol and law enforcement operation on the Mekong River between China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand was officially launched. Law enforcement teams and law enforcement boats from the four countries of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand set sail from Jingha in China, Wanbeng in Myanmar, and Meng Mo and Banxianggo piers in Laos respectively. After meeting in the predetermined waters, they will jointly carry out joint patrols and law enforcement.

A total of more than 150 law enforcement personnel and 7 law enforcement boats were dispatched by the four parties in this operation. In order to ensure efficient coordination of the operation, a joint patrol law enforcement formation command post was set up in the Chinese side's 53108 boat, and a delegation led by the commanders of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand jointly commanded a series of joint law enforcement operations.

During the operation, the four parties will focus on Focus on the security management of the Mekong River Basin, implement the relevant consensus of the four parties, and carry out multiple tasks in an orderly manner:

China will rotate the Chinese duty units at the China-Laos, Myanmar-Thailand Mekong River joint patrol and law enforcement contact points in Meng Mo and Ban Xiangguo, Laos;

China, Laos and Myanmar will carry out a joint water-based investigation operation in the Mekong River waters from Ban Xianggol to Xiangla to severely crack down on cross-border illegal and criminal activities such as drug smuggling, illegal smuggling, telecommunications and network fraud;

Organize water-based emergency response in Solei waters Joint practical training will further enhance the four parties' joint emergency response and collaborative operations capabilities;

At the same time, the four parties will hold an information exchange meeting in Wanbeng, Myanmar, to inform each other of the security situation in the Mekong River Basin, share law enforcement information, and discuss measures to deepen cooperation.
