Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 30. On March 30, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the establishment of the World Data Organization.

Xi Jinping pointed out that today’s world is accelerating into the intelligent era, and the role of data as a basic resource and innovation engine is increasingly emerging. With the purpose of "bridging the data gap, releasing data value, and prospering the digital economy", the World Data Organization provides a useful platform for deepening international cooperation on data and improving global data governance.

Xi Jinping emphasized that China will uphold the concept of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, support the role of the World Data Organization, work with all parties to build consensus on data governance rules, promote digital intelligence technology innovation, promote the safe and orderly flow and efficient development and utilization of data, serve the healthy development of the global digital economy, and allow data dividends to better benefit people of all countries.

The founding conference of the World Data Organization was held in Beijing on the same day, with the theme of "Co-building a data cooperation platform and sharing digital development opportunities." Members of the organization include global data-related enterprises, universities, think tanks, international organizations, financial institutions, etc.
