According to statistics from the Shenzhen Border Inspection Station, as of May 2 this year, the number of people entering and exiting through Shenzhen's ports has exceeded 100 million, 17 days ahead of schedule in 2025. The average daily passenger flow is 825,000, a year-on-year increase of 13.5% in 2025, ranking first in the country.
2026 is APEC’s “Year of China”, and the 33rd APEC Leaders’ Informal Meeting will be held in Shenzhen. The “meeting traffic” combined with the visa-free “circle of friends” continues to expand, and the “China Travel” global fan base. Since this year, Shenzhen Port has repeatedly hit passenger flow peaks, with the single-day peak passenger flow exceeding one million passengers 14 times, reaching a maximum of 1.092 million passengers.
Since the beginning of this year, six ports including Huanggang, Futian, Luohu and Shenzhen Bay have fully launched intelligent express lanes for border inspection. On average, 1 in 3 entry-exit personnel enjoys "face-swiping" customs clearance, and the overall customs clearance efficiency of the ports has increased by 37.2%.
Statistics show that since this year, the passenger flow at Huanggang Port on weekday nights (22:00 to 6:00 the next day) has increased by 14.4% year-on-year, and the passenger flow at weekend nights has increased by 7.1% year-on-year. Cross-border "nightlife" is becoming a new engine of consumption.
With the optimization and implementation of a series of convenient measures such as 240-hour transit visa exemption, mutual visa exemption, and unilateral visa exemption, the number of foreigners entering and exiting through Shenzhen ranks second in the country and maintains rapid growth. As of May 2, the Shenzhen Border Inspection Station has inspected nearly 3 million foreigners entering and leaving the country, a year-on-year increase of 28%, of which about 700,000 foreigners entered without visas, a year-on-year increase of 48%.
