In the first quarter of 2026, my country's electronic information manufacturing production has grown rapidly, exports have continued to rebound, efficiency has increased significantly, investment growth has accelerated, and the overall development trend of the industry is good.

1. Rapid growth in production

In the first quarter, the added value of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 13.6% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 7.5 percentage points and 1.1 percentage points higher than the industrial and high-tech manufacturing industries in the same period. In March, the added value of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 12.5% ​​year-on-year. Among the main products, the output of mobile phones was 345 million units, a year-on-year increase of 0.6%, including 298 million smartphones, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%; the output of microcomputer equipment was 72.02 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 8.4%; the output of integrated circuits was 127.2 billion units, a year-on-year increase of 24.3%.

2. Exports continued to rebound

In the first quarter, the cumulative export delivery value of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 4.2% year-on-year, an increase of 3 percentage points from January and February. In March, the export delivery value of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 9.3% year-on-year. According to customs statistics, in the first quarter, my country exported 29.4 million laptops, a year-on-year decrease of 11.8%; exported 165 million mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 1.5%; and exported 85 billion integrated circuits, a year-on-year increase of 13.4%.

3. Significant improvement in efficiency

In the first quarter, the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size achieved operating income of 4.31 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%; operating costs were 3.69 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%; and total profits were 217 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.25 times. In March, the operating income of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size was 1.68 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%.

4. Investment growth accelerated

In the first quarter, fixed asset investment in the electronic information manufacturing industry increased by 5.4% year-on-year, 4.2 percentage points higher than in January and February, and 0.4 percentage points lower than the growth rate of industrial investment in the same period.

5. Income grew rapidly in the central and eastern regions

In the first quarter, the eastern region of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size achieved operating income of 3,002.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%, down 0.7 percentage points from January and February; the central region achieved operating income of 820.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.8% , an increase of 4.4 percentage points from January and February; the western region achieved operating income of 466.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%, an increase of 2.7 percentage points from January and February; the northeastern region achieved operating income of 20.48 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%, and an increase of 1.2 percentage points from January and February. In March, the eastern region achieved operating income of 1,157.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%; the central region achieved operating income of 327.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 40.2%; the western region achieved operating income of 185.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%; the northeastern region achieved operating income of 7.7 billion yuan, unchanged from the same period last year.
