At noon on June 8, local time, Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Council, held a grand welcome ceremony for Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the State, at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang.
A huge portrait of the top leaders of the two parties and countries of China and North Korea hangs in the center of Kim Il Sung Square. The slogans "DPRK-China Friendship Will Everlasting" and "Long Live the Unbreakable DPRK-China Friendship and Unity" written in both Chinese and North Korean bilinguals are particularly eye-catching. The national flags of the two countries fluttered in the wind, and the welcoming crowd was excited and eagerly awaiting the event.
When Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan arrived by car, cavalry and cavalry lined up to greet them, and a military band played a welcome song. On the way from the airport to Kim Il Sung Square and from Kim Il Sung Square to the Kumsusan Guest House, North Korean people spontaneously waved on both sides of the road to welcome Xi Jinping's visit.
