The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released the "China Cold Chain Logistics Development Report (2026)" today (10th). According to the report, at present, my country's cold chain supply chain has a solid development foundation and its comprehensive strength continues to improve. This year, the scale of my country's cold chain logistics market is expected to exceed 585 billion yuan.

According to reports, the global cold chain logistics service market will be approximately 2.75 trillion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year growth of 12.11%, and a compound growth rate of approximately 13.8% in the next ten years. Among them, the Asia-Pacific region is expected to be the largest and fastest growing market. In recent years, my country's cold chain logistics market demand has maintained steady growth, and the resilience and risk resistance of the industrial and supply chains have significantly improved. Models such as "central kitchen + cold chain", "pharmaceutical + cold chain" and "instant retail + cold chain" have gradually entered a mature development period.

In addition, my country’s cross-border cold chain ecology continues to upgrade, and cross-border demand is strong. From January to April this year, the total import and export volume of fresh agricultural products was approximately 323.891 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%. Focus on monitoring the global merchandise sales of cross-border e-commerce import platforms, which increased by 4.3%. Cross-border e-commerce has upgraded from "product export" to "technology, model, and ecology" to expand overseas in an all-round way.

Ma Zengrong, vice president and secretary-general of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing: The cold chain has broken through the boundaries of single logistics services, showing the characteristics of cross-industry, cross-field, and cross-border integrated development. Through the collaborative linkage of upstream and downstream and the exchange of internal and external resources, we will promote the efficient flow of business flow, logistics, information flow, and capital flow, and build a global cold chain ecosystem with complementary advantages and open symbiosis.

Experts said that as the most dynamic and key track in the modern circulation system that is closest to people's livelihood, the cold chain supply chain is not only a basic service industry that ensures the supply of people's livelihood and protects national quality consumption, but also a key chain that integrates into the global economic and trade pattern and participates in the international industrial division of labor. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the global industrial and supply chains have entered a period of deep reconstruction. my country is promoting the transformation and upgrading of cold chain supply chains, adding multiple opportunities such as the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the in-depth implementation of RCEP, and the empowerment of new productivity. The cross-border cold chain supply chain will usher in a new window period.
